Terms of Privacy

1. We never share your personal information with anyone.
2. Information you've shared with everyone - as well as your name, profile picture, gender, networks, and username - could be seen by anyone on the internet. Please be aware that it will be visible to anyone viewing your profile, and apps and websites you and your friends use will be able to access it.

• Safety

1.   You will not send or otherwise post unauthorized commercial communications (such as spam) on ENTEKERALAM.
2. You will not collect users' content or information, or otherwise access ENTEKERALAM, using automated means (such as harvesting bots, robots, spiders, or scrapers) without our permission.
3. You will not engage in unlawful multi-level marketing, such as a pyramid scheme, on ENTEKERALAM.
4. You will not upload viruses or other malicious code.
5. You will not solicit login information or access an account belonging to someone else.
6. You will not bully, intimidate, or harass any user.
7. You will not post content that: is hateful, threatening, or pornographic; incites violence; or contains nudity or graphic or gratuitous violence.
8. You will not develop or operate a third-party application containing alcohol-related or other mature content (including advertisements) without appropriate age-based restrictions.
9. You will not offer any contest, giveaway, or sweepstakes ("promotion") on ENTEKERALAM without our prior written consent. If we consent, you take full responsibility for the promotion, and will follow all applicable laws.
10. You will not use ENTEKERALAM to do anything unlawful, misleading, malicious, or discriminatory.
11. You will not do anything that could disable, overburden, or impair the proper working of ENTEKERALAM, such as a denial of service attack.
12. You will not facilitate or encourage any violations of this Statement.

Registration and Account Security

ENTEKERALAM users provide their real names and information, and we need your help to keep it that way. Here are some commitments you make to us relating to registering and maintaining the security of your account: 

1. You will not provide any false personal information on ENTEKERALAM, or create an account for anyone other than yourself without permission.
2. You will not create more than one personal profile.
3. If we disable your account, you will not create another one without our permission.
4. You will not use your personal profile for your own commercial gain (such as selling your status update to an advertiser).
5. You will not use ENTEKERALAM if you are under 18.
6. You will keep your contact information accurate and up-to-date.
7. You will not share your password, (or in the case of developers, your secret key), let anyone else access your account, or do anything else that might jeopardize the security of your account.
8. You will not transfer your account (including any page or application you administer) to anyone without first getting our written permission.
9. If you select a username for your account we reserve the right to remove or reclaim it if we believe appropriate (such as when a trademark owner complains about a username that does not closely relate to a user's actual name).

  Protecting Other People's Rights

We respect other people's rights, and expect you to do the same. 

1. You will not post content or take any action on ENTEKERALAM that infringes or violates someone else's rights or otherwise violates the law.
2. We can remove any content or information you post on ENTEKERALAM if we believe that it violates this Statement.
3. We will provide you with tools to help you protect your intellectual property rightsIf we remove your content for infringing someone else's copyright, and you believe we removed it by mistake, we will provide you with an opportunity to appeal.
4. If you repeatedly infringe other people's intellectual property rights, we will disable your account when appropriate.
5. You will not use our copyrights or, or any confusingly similar marks, without our written permission.
6. If you collect information from users, you will: obtain their consent, make it clear you (and not ENTEKERALAM) are the one collecting their information, and post a privacy policy explaining what information you collect and how you will use it.
7. You will not post anyone's identification documents or sensitive financial information on ENTEKERALAM.
8. You will not tag users or send email invitations to non-users without their consent.

Geography and Climate

Kerala is wedged between the Lakshadweep Sea and the Western Ghats.
Lying between north latitudes 8°18' and 12°48' and east longitudes 74°52' and 77°22', Kerala experiences the humid equatorial tropic climate.
The state has a coast of length 590 km (367 mi) and the width of the state varies between 35 and 120 km (22–75 miles). Located at the extreme southern tip of the Indian subcontinent, Kerala lies near the centre of the Indian tectonic plate; hence, most of the state is subject to comparatively little seismic and volcanic activity. Pre-Cambrian and Pleistocene geological formations compose the bulk of Kerala’s terrain.

Geographically, Kerala can be divided into three climatically distinct regions:

• The eastern highlands (rugged and cool mountainous terrain)

• The central midlands (rolling hills)

• The western lowlands (coastal plains)

The Western Ghats rises on average to 1,500 m (4920 ft) above sea level, while the highest peaks may reach to 2,500 m (8200 ft).
Anamudi is the highest peak at an elevation of 2,695 metres (8,130 ft).

Flora and Fauna

FLORA

Almost one fourth of India's 10,000 plant species are found in the state.

Among the almost 4,000 flowering plant species

• 1,272 are endemic to Kerala
• 159 threatened
• 900 species of medicinal plants

Cassia Fistula (Kani Konna) is the state flower of Kerala
Among the 1,000 species of trees in Kerala, the major ones are

• sonokeling (Dalbergia latifolia)
• anjili
• mullumurikku (Erythrina)
• Cassia

• Bamboo
• wild black pepper
• wild cardamom
• the calamus rattan palm (a type of climbing palm)
• aromatic vetiver grass (Vetiveria zizanioides)

Two of the world’s Ramsar Convention listed wetlands—     

• Lake Sasthamkotta
• Vembanad-Kol wetlands are in Kerala                                     

As well as 1455.4 km² of the vast Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve.

Subjected to extensive clearing for cultivation in the 20th century, much of the remaining forest cover is now protected from clearfelling.
Eastern Kerala’s windward mountains shelter tropical moist forests and tropical dry forests, which are common in the Western Ghats.

FAUNA

Kerala's fauna are noticeable for their diversity and high rates of endemism:

• 102 species of mammals  (56 of them are endemic)
• 453 species of birds
• 202 species of freshwater fishes
• 169 species of reptiles (139 of them endemic)
• 89 species of amphibians (86 endemic)

These are threatened by extensive habitat destruction, including soil erosion, landslides, salinization, and resource extraction

Transport

National Highway Roads in Kerala

• Kerala has 145,704 kilometers (90,536 mi) of roads (4.2% of India's total). Roads in Kerala includes 1,524 km of National highway (2.6% of nation's total), 4006 km of state highway and 23,702 km of district roads.

• NH 17 connects Edapally (Kochi) to Panavel (near Mumbai) and is the longest stretch of national highway through the state.

• The other major national highway passing through the state is the National_Highway_47_(India) which connects Salem to Kanyakumari and passes through the major towns and cities like Palakkad, Thrissur, Kochi, Alappuzha, Kollam and Thiruvananthapuram.

• The length of the National Highway 47 (India) through Kerala is 416.8 km.

• NH 19 (Kochi - Rameswaram), NH 208 (Kollam - Thirumangalam), NH 212 (Kozhikode - Mysore), NH 213 (Kozhikode - Palakkad), NH 220 (Kollam - theni) are the other national highways serving the state of Kerala

• Most of Kerala's west coast is accessible through two national highways, NH 47, and NH 17 and eastern hills are accessible through proposed Hill Highway (Kerala)

Railway

The Indian Railways' Southern Railway line runs throughout the state, connecting all major towns and cities except those in the highland districts of Idukki and Wayanad. Kerala's major railway stations are Kasaragod, Kannur, Thalassery, Vadakara, Kozhikode, Tirur, Shornur Junction, Palakkad Junction, Thrissur, Aluva, Ernakulam Town, Ernakulam Junction, Alappuzha, Chengannur, Kottayam, Kollam Junction and Thiruvananthapuram Central

Water ways

The backwaters traversing the state are an important mode of inland navigation. National Waterway 3 traverse through the state.

Airports

The state has three major international airports at Thiruvananthapuram, Kochi, and Kozhikode, that link the state with the rest of the nation and the world. The Cochin International Airport (COK) was the first Indian airport incorporated as a public limited company and is funded by nearly 10,000 Non Resident Indians from 30 countries. A fourth international airport is proposed at Kannur.
